Darjeeling Gangtok
Day 01: New Jalpaiguri / Bagdogra – Darjeeling
Arrive in New Jalpaiguri or Bagdogra to a warm welcome by our tour guide who then escorts you to the coach that will take you to your hotel. Relax a bit and as the sun starts dipping, set out to explore The Mall and sample local cuisines.
Day 02: Darjeeling Excursions
Rise early at around 3 AM and set out in the cool air of pre-dawn to Tiger Hill and wait with bated breath for the Sun to rise over the Kanchenjunga. This sight alone is worth the trip and both of you will remember it forever. Return via Batasia Loop where you can see the railway line spiraling around before vanishing into a tunnel. Take in the Ghoom Monastery later in the day and then you can, on your own, visit the Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda or wander out of town to stroll along the waterfalls. Lovers love riding on the toy train and this is something you should not miss.
Day 03: Darjeeling Local Excursions
After breakfast, the group sets out on an excursion that will take you to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the Dhirdham Temple and the Zoological Gardens. There is a brief interlude as you take a ride on the ropeway after which we visit Lebong Race Course, Gombu Rock, Happy valley tea Estate and the Peace Pagoda. Return to your room for the night.
Day 04: Darjeeling – Gangtok
Enjoy a Bengali breakfast in the crisp morning air and board the coach for the 100 km drive to Gangtok across scenic, winding mountain roads. The half-day trip to Gangtok includes visit to Hanuman Tok, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Tashi View Point with its wonderful view of the Himalayas, Rumtek Monastery and Ganesh Tok. Stay in the picturesque Buddhist environment of Gangtok for the night.
Day 05: Gangtok Excursions
Enjoy a Tibetan breakfast and then we take you to Tsomgo Lake in East Sikkim. The trip includes a visit to Baba Harbhajan Temple and the forbidding Nathu La Pass located at a height of 4310 metres that was once a part of the Silk Route.
Day 06: Gangtok – New Jalpaiguri / Bagdogra
On this last and final day you have a sumptuous breakfast and board the coach for the return drive to New Jalpaiguri/Bagdogra over a distance of 110 km that in itself is a beautiful journey that lovers enjoy. When you arrive the tour guide assists you with onward travel and bids you a fond farewell.
